Austin Energy Working on Power Restoration
Austin Energy continues to work on restoring power to Rollingwood and have communicated to the city that they will have resources in the community today. There are currently 266 outages affecting 2,546 customers within the Austin Energy service area. The city has 2 lift stations that are still without power on Nixon and Rockway. Nixon is part of a larger outage (>100 customers) and Rockway (50-100 customers). Of the 266 outages in the service area, 13 of them are affecting >50 customers, including the city’s 2 lift stations. Crossroads is continuously monitoring the lift station levels and pumping down as necessary. So far, we have been able to handle the situation with towing the generator between the two sites. Austin Energy has made us aware that our critical infrastructure is a priority in their order of work.
This was an incredible storm event with straight line, hurricane force winds. There were instances of fires from power lines touching trees. As a result, Austin Energy has been having to perform a lot of tree trimming in order to make repairs safely. Communication with the crew on the ground revealed that while they were able to power some circuits yesterday, the transformers eventually blew and they were unable to restore power. We understand your frustration. Please rest assured that the city will continue to advocate for expedited power restoration in Rollingwood. We have been in constant communication with Austin Energy and will continue to provide updates as they become available.
If your neighbors have not been receiving communication and would like to, please have them contact Assistant City Administrator Ashley Wayman at awayman@rollingwoodtx.gov.
If there is anything else the city can do to be helpful, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Take care,
City of Rollingwood
