PRESS RELEASE 12/20/25 - Shots Fired During Theft of Vehicle

Rollingwood, Texas – December 20, 2025

The Rollingwood Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred this morning at approximately 3:43 a.m. in the 3200 block of Park Hills Drive.

A Rollingwood police officer on patrol heard and immediately responded to gunshots in the vicinity. Upon arriving on scene, it was determined that the gunshots were related to a theft of a motor vehicle. With assistance from West Lake Hills Police Department, Austin Police Department, and Travis County Sheriff’s Office, an immediate but unsuccessful search for the suspect was conducted. The vehicle was recovered.

The shelter-in-place order that was issued to the public has now been lifted. No injuries were reported due to the incident, there is no ongoing threat to the public, and the investigation remains active. Officers are continuing to gather information and are reviewing available evidence related to the incident.
