Quick Information for Contractors

Basic Construction Rules and Requirements

  • Construction hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

Construction and demolition are not permitted during City Holidays or on weekends.

  • Quiet interior construction work is permitted between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays ONLY if the work meets the following requirements:
    • Takes place wholly within a dried-in structure;
    • Does not require large equipment such as cement trucks, dozers, cranes, or dump trucks;
    • Does not create a nuisance condition related to noise, traffic, odor, dust, or other conditions and is not in violation of any other city ordinance.
  • A sign noting the construction hours shall be posted on-site at or prior to the pre-construction meeting and shall remain for the duration of the project.
  • Heavy construction vehicles must comply with designated construction routes (Routes here). Sec. 101-249. - Designated routes for construction vehicles
  • Silt fences/ erosion control measures must be in place before the start of construction and remain until landscaping is completed.
  • Dirt, fill, gravel, or other pervious materials must be stored within a silt fence or securely covered with a water-resistant tarp. Sec. 101-250. - Storage of dirt, gravel and other pervious materials
  • Sec. 101-253. - Construction sites are to be kept clean at all times, free of trash and debris.  Construction sites must have a solid-sided trash container, cannot be overfilled, and must be regularly emptied. 
  • The location of portable toilets, construction containers, and materials staging needs to be noted on a site plan and submitted at or before the pre-construction meeting.
  • A set of stamped or otherwise approved plans by the Office of Development Services must be kept on-site at all times.  No plan changes shall be made without approval from the Office of Development Services.
  • A copy of the building permit issued by the Office of Development Services shall be kept on-site at all times and shall list all required inspections as detailed in the plan review.

Inspections

ATS Engineers perform the City of Rollingwood's inspections. Inspections must be called in before 4:00 p.m. to be scheduled for the next day.  Please schedule inspections through your MyGovernmentOnline Portal. If you cannot, contact Development Services by phone or email (developmentservices@rollingwoodtx.gov). Always include your contact information, the property address, and the specific inspection(s) requested.

All inspections must be pre-paid before a permit is issued.

All inspections listed on the plan review are required to grant occupancy. Additional inspections may be necessary, especially for phased projects. We are glad to call in any additional inspections you want above what your permit requires.
